Creativity: the putting together of two previously unrelated things, objects or ideas, and making something new. Wood and bicycles has proven to be a great combination. This year's entry was a cycle cross bike designed for off-road racing. It has a hollow main frame so it's very lightweight, yet incredibly tough. I had to hose the trail-mud off the frame before wheeling into the judging venue. The rear triangle of the frame is steam-bent and laminated into rather extreme curves to accommodate fat tires. A walnut water bottle holder was fabricated using the same technique. The following is a video of the wooden frame building process:

These are our two Best of Shows winners, best in carving and best in woodworking. The 2014 COMPETITION photos are up ready your enjoyment. This year's show was a banner year for carving quality as you will see when you view the images of the winning carvings. When the details for the 2015 show are finalized they will be posted.
