2018 Artistry In Wood Show
“A picture is worth a thousand words,” and the old family photo album is a journey of memories. The 2018 Dayton Artistry in Wood show is now a memory for the 3400 visitors and the 175 exhibitors and vendors who participated in the two-day woodcarving and woodworking competition and show the second weekend of October. The photo slide show of the competition winners will enhance the memory as well as being a pre-memory visit for anyone who was unable to attend. These photos will testify once again to the beautiful creations of art in wood while sparking mental picture memories of journeying down the 15 aisles and outer walls of exhibition spaces in the beautifully appointed ballroom of Roberts Centre, Wilmington, OH, the home of the show. Down each aisle, the amazing creations of art in wood by each of the exhibitors will be remembered with aesthetic appreciation. One standout memory will be the exquisite art in wood of Canadian Master Carver Fred Zavadil in the guest artist display. Memories will relive the smiles of accomplishment on the faces of children who assembled 120 woodworking projects in the Western Ohio Woodworkers Children’s’ workshop. Memories will be sparked while remembering the demonstrations hosted by Wood Illustrated, as well as remembering the Silent Auction, the Ornament Carving competition, and remembering all those wonderful conversations and chance meetings with artists of wood while viewing and purchasing one of a kind creations of wood art.
